AI-assisted code is not automatically unsafe, and a successful deployment is not a complete review. The useful task is to collect evidence about this application's actual behavior and state what has not been checked.

Define the users and workflows first

List the roles, the information each role should see and the few customer journeys that matter at launch. For example, a buyer makes a request, an operator handles it and an administrator manages access. A review should name the roles and journeys it samples instead of claiming to inspect everything.

Use a staging environment and synthetic test accounts where practical. Agree on any necessary production reads or tests before they happen. Copying customer data into an unsecured test project is not a useful shortcut.

Accounts and authorization

Try the agreed workflows with separate accounts. Verify that a user cannot read or edit another user's private records through an API request merely because a button is hidden in the interface. Check the server or data-access rules, not only the displayed page.

Review signup, login, logout, password recovery and any approved role changes on the intended domain. The owner should know which provider controls those processes and how account access can be recovered.

Lovable's security guidance explains that basic row-level security policies need review and that authorization belongs in server-side logic. This is a reason to test the specific policies, not a claim that every project created with a builder has the same defect.

Credentials and configuration

Identify which configuration is intended to be public and which credentials must remain private. Some providers intentionally use public browser identifiers. A private service credential is different. Check the provider's current documentation rather than treating every frontend key as a leak.

Confirm production environment variables, callback URLs, allowed domains and access to deployment accounts. Remove development secrets or test endpoints where applicable. Record who owns those accounts and what access a maintenance team needs.

Payments and failure states

If payments are in scope, trace the agreed purchase or subscription flow through the provider's test environment. Check success, cancellation, failure and the application's response to repeated or delayed callbacks. The browser's success page should not be the only source of truth for whether a payment completed.

State the boundary clearly. Checking three named payment states does not certify every refund, dispute, tax or accounting situation. Complex money movement may need a separately scoped specialist review.

Deployment and recovery

Confirm how the app is built and released, what services it depends on and which environment stores the data. Check the agreed backup/recovery procedure, deployment rollback and error reporting. Include usage limits or spending controls for services that charge by request.

Vercel's production checklist covers operational considerations beyond a successful deployment. Use the parts relevant to your project and hosting setup. Provider features and defaults change, so check the documentation at the time of the review.

What the review report should contain

  • The application, roles and workflows covered.
  • Each finding's evidence, reproduction, severity and affected journey.
  • What can be retained and what needs more investigation.
  • Launch blockers separated from later improvements.
  • Repair options with assumptions, scope and price.
  • The environments and paths not tested.

The report should be useful to your own developer as well. It should not pressure you into an unexplained rebuild or declare the app secure because a checklist has several ticks.

Our bounded App Launch Review

BYBOWU's AI App Launch Review is $1,490 for an eligible project: one web app, one database, up to two named roles and three named critical workflows. We agree on the access and scope first. You receive the review and prioritized findings; fixes, production launch and new features are separately quoted.

This is not a penetration-test certification, compliance attestation or guarantee against every possible issue. We do not promise to review an arbitrary app of any size for the fixed fee. Existing BYBOWU support promises cover our own delivered work, not unlimited repairs to inherited code.

Ask for an app review quote. Tell us what should work, what currently fails and which builder or stack you used. Share private source and provider access through controlled invitations after the initial fit check.
