What this tool does

Every page has a <head> section that visitors never see but search engines and social apps read. The tags in it decide how your page shows up in Google and what appears when someone pastes your link into Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Slack, WhatsApp or iMessage. The generator writes those tags and previews the result, so you can fix them before the page goes live.

Which tags it writes

  • Primary meta: title, meta description, canonical, robots and an optional author.
  • Open Graph: og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url, og:type, og:site_name and og:locale, read by Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack and most other apps.
  • X (Twitter) cards: twitter:card, twitter:title, twitter:description, twitter:image and twitter:site.
  • Optional JSON-LD: a WebPage structured-data block.

How to use it

  1. Fill in the title, description, URL and a preview image.
  2. Check each preview tab and shorten anything that gets cut off.
  3. Click Copy tags and paste them into the <head> of your page.
  4. After publishing, run the URL through the Facebook Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn Post Inspector so their caches refresh.

Questions

What length should my title and description be?

Keep titles around 50 to 60 characters and descriptions around 120 to 155. Past that, Google usually cuts them off with an ellipsis. The counters next to the fields turn amber as you get close and red when you go over.

What image size works best for social previews?

Use 1200×630 pixels (a 1.91:1 ratio) for large cards. It looks sharp on Facebook, LinkedIn and an X summary_large_image card. For the small square X card, a centered logo works well.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. The generator runs in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to us or stored. The only thing loaded is your preview image, from the address you enter.

Why does my preview image not update on Facebook?

Social platforms cache previews. After changing your tags, paste the URL into the Facebook Sharing Debugger and click “Scrape Again” to refresh it.
